Reaching the Lost

In Mark 16:15 Jesus told his disciples to, "Go into all the world and preach (i.e., proclaim) the gospel".
I'd like to recognize one notable man and group that started a fire for missions in the 16th century; John Calvin, and those that later became known as the Calvinists. John Calvin pastored a church in Geneva, Switzerland, in the mid 1500s, and under his leadership the church became a missionary hub for Europe, and over 100 missionaries were sent out within a several year period. Many a missioinary, evangelist, and preacher traced their theological roots back to this small congregation. Some of these include pioneer Baptist missionary William Carey (1761-1834), father of the modern missions movement, Adonirum Judson (Burma), Jonathan Edwards, George Whitefield, and Charles Hadden Spurgeon.

Spurgeon, once said, "I think the missionary should say, I am come to tell you something which the One God of heaven and earth hath said, and I tell you before I announce it, that if you believe it you shall be saved, and if not, you shall be damned. I am come to tell you that Jesus Christ, the Son of God became flesh, to die for poor unworthy man, that through his mediation, and death, and suffering, the people of God might be delivered. Now, if you will listen to me you shall hear the word of God: if you do not, I shake the dust of my feet against you, and go somewhere else.”

Oh, that the Lord would give us a heart to reach the lost. If you are within driving distance of our Titusville, Florida, fellowship, I invite you to come out Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m. here at the church for an exciting video series on sharing your faith. It's the Way of the Master series and has been a great help to many in our community.
Yours in Him,
Pastor B.
