What's Wrong with Me?

Have you asked yourself that question recently? Do you ever wonder why you keep messing up? Why you keep stumbling? Why you can't get your act together? Do you ever tire of trying to figure y0urself out? Or of struggling? Sometimes we immerse ourselves in our work, in the lives of our children, in our hobbies, or even in our church work, but when we come up for air we find that our life hasn't gotten any better. Sometimes we blame our unhappiness on other people or circumstances, but most of us at one time or another begin to sense that the real problem is 'us'. Now you would think that this would be a great start, but if the problem is 'us', then how do we fix 'us'? And many of us have eventually come to the conclusion that we can't be fixed. If others can't be fixed, if our circumstances can't be fixed, and if we can't be fixed, then where does that leave us?
The answer is, "in the hands of the Fixer". While it is true that WE can't fix ourselves, fix others, or fix our circumstances, it is equally true that God CAN.

But indeed, O man, who are you to reply against God? Will the thing formed say to him who formed it, "Why have you made me like this?"
(Rom 9:20)
But now, O LORD, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand. (Isa 64:8)

being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ;
(Php 1:6)
I can't find a verse in the Bible where it says we are responsible to fix ourselves, or to fix others, or to fix our circumstances. I CAN find in the Bible where it says we are to put our stumblings and those of others behind us, and press forward to the glory of God.

Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.
(Php 3:12-15)
Press toward the goal,
Yours in Him,
Pastor B.
