Hummingbird or Hawkmoth?

Do you think this is a hummingbird or a moth? Believe it or not, there is a moth that actually flies around like a hummingbird, and even acts like a hummingbird, but is actually a moth. It's called the Hummingbird Hawkmoth.

Did you know that you can fly around like a Christ-follower, and even act like a Christ-follower, and yet not really be a Christ-follower?

You could look at video clips of the hummingbird moth and still not be sure what exactly makes it a moth, as opposed to a hummingbird. In fact, through observation you'd probably make some guesses that were incorrect. The only way to determine the defining characteristics of a hummingbird is to study it and learn the facts. Then you can observe based on these truths and have a good shot at spotting the true hummingbird.

In the same way, the only way to determine the defining characteristics of a Christ-follower is to study the Bible and learn the facts. Then you can observe based on these truths and have a good shot at spotting the true Christ-follower.

We're living in a day and age where the lines between truth and fiction, true and false, real and fake, are being increasingly blurred, and it is increasingly important for us to know how to discern the work of the Holy Spirit from the work of other forces.

We are all God's creatures, but we aren't all hummingbirds.
