When Jesus stood before Pilate, and Pilate asked Him if He was a king, He said, "You say rightly that I am a king." That's probably one of the understatements of all time.
Jesus Christ is the Ruler over the Kings of the Earth!
"and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood"- (Rev 1:5)
The prophet Daniel put it this way,
"All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, "What have You done?" (Dan 4:35)
"All the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing; He does according to His will in the army of heaven And among the inhabitants of the earth. No one can restrain His hand Or say to Him, "What have You done?" (Dan 4:35)
The apostle John and the prophet Daniel knew what they were talking about. (John was the beloved disciple [see John 13:23, 19:26, 20:2, 21:7, 21:20], and Daniel was one of the three great men of faith identified by the prophet Ezekiel [Ezekiel 14:14, 20]).
They had a realtionship with the Lord that was up close and personal, and they had every confidence that the Lord reigns over the kings of the earth. What this means is that our president, our congress, our supreme court, and even the powers of Iran answer to a higher power, the Lord Jesus Christ.
(Did you know that Jerusalem, Moscow and Tehran are all cities that sit on seven hills? Interesting in the light of Revelation 17:9- we'll be talking on this next Tuesday night at my house as we discuss Revelation 6:30 p.m. at 5260 Curtis Blvd.- you're invited, but call me at 638-4464 or drop me an e-mail to let me know you're coming.)
Jesus answered, "My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here." Pilate therefore said to Him, "Are You a king then?" Jesus answered, "You say rightly that I am a king. For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."
(Joh 18:36-37)
Praise God that we have heard His voice. As we seek to obey His voice, take heart that He has overcome the world!
Yours in Him,
Pastor B.
