Members of the Royal Family

Here I sit about to perform another wedding. Did you ever stop and think that every time a son and daughter of God marry, that in a real sense it is a royal wedding? After all the Word of God says that we are a royal priesthood.

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light;
(1Pe 2:9)

We are of the royal line of the Messiah, the Christ, the Son of David, the Lion of Judah. What earthly pomp and splendor often accompany the joining of two people together when they are members of royal families on earth.

What heavenly pomp and splendor must accompany the joining of two people together when they are members of THE ROYAL FAMILY of heaven!

Of course, all royal families have their wayward sons and daughters, trying to flee the great responsibility of being part of a royal household, and trying to blend in with the common of the world. But those that are destined to be royalty will ultimately come home.

Are you part of the royal family of Christ, the Messiah, the King of kings, and Lord of lords? Are you fulfilling your responsibilities as a member of His royal household? Or are you one of those wayward sons and daughters trying to blend in with the world?

You can run from who you are, but you can't hide.

But the LORD said to Samuel, . . . "For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
(1Sa 16:7)
