All of us have eyes, but did you know that the eyes of God are spiritual eyes that look upon the heart?
But the LORD said to Samuel, "Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the LORD does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart."
(1Sa 16:7)
If we wish to see others as God sees them, if we wish to see our circumstances as God sees them, we must learn to look through the spiritual 'eyes' that God gives us, and not rely so heavily on our natural eyes.
Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.
(2Co 4:16-18)
Is that what they call an 'oxymoron'? "While we do not look at the things which are seen, but AT THE THINGS WHICH ARE NOT SEEN." How do you look on things that are not seen?
Answer? By the power of the Holy Spirit.
But as it is written: "EYE HAS NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NOR HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN THE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM." But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
(1Co 2:9-10)
God loves you, and His Spirit can help you see beyond hard people and beyond hard circumstances.
that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints,
(Eph 1:17-18)
Yours in Him,
Pastor B.
