Praise God! It looks as though the Lord has opened up the way to establish a beachhead for further Kingdom of God operations in the hood of Titusville. (Is that brother Chuck Brumm driving that boat? Does he have a smile on his face?)
Our Jesus Walk team was led by the Spirit down a street where we saw a small crowd gathering and where it looked like a fight was about to break out. We guys quickly moved into the area armed with our Bibles, our bottled water, (and our teddy bears), and what happened next was God's handiwork. The tension was displaced by the presence of the Holy Spirit, and within a short period of time our team’s women and kids joined us, and we ministered to the men that were gathered in a spot where we were told several shootings have taken place in the past year.
Seeing 'gang members' reading the Bibles that they had been handed, holding hands in a circle of prayer, offering up their prayers, and asking for us to return was more than touching. We were assured they would watch out for us if we would be willing to 'set up camp' on the corner and come back to minister the Word of God and the love of Jesus to the gangs and people in the area.
My heart went out to these guys, especially in that I’m not sure most of them really believed we would return. WE WILL BE BACK!
Yours in Him,
Pastor B.
